Oriental Chinese satin comforters - the dawn of sophistication and luxury! The different varieties of Chinese satin comforters of the Orient Many of the really good Satin Comforters are made with satins imported from the Orient. But equally there are many excellent manufacturers of satin from all over the world. Of course, satin was originally made in China and then exported from a seaport called Zaytun from which the name Satin derives. Some intricate antique Chinese satin is still being exported from China, and this satin is traditionally costly, though not always. Today, superior quality satin comforters are often made from 100% woven polyester and are some of the finest, smoothest and most elegant satin bedding available. So, for style and sophistication, you can't do much better than plumming for an Oriental Chinese Satin Comforter. They’re not easy to find in modern bedding and fabric shops, so you’d be well advised to check online here at our recommended sites for comforters. About comforters and their cosy filling Comforters traditionally cover the bed from head to foot. This sumptuous item of satin bedding would normally drop from between 15” – 22” (37cm - 55cm) over the sides and over the foot end of the bed. The comforter itself is made with two pieces of fabric large enough to cover the bed. They are then stitched together and filled with fiber which could be a synthetic or natural filling. For example, the filling could be South American Alpaca fleece. This is particularly good as the fibers absorb and release moisture from the air so that the filling stays warm dry and comfortable. If the filling for the satin comforter is real feather down, manufacturers use a 100% cotton covering, preventing the sharp feather ends from leaking through. This also increases the durability of the comforter. The cotton is then covered with satin. A satin comforter is quite often quilted with different, quite beautiful designs. This quilting has the advantage of trapping the filling in pockets so that the comforter is uniformly warm. Aahh! - Just look at those satiny colors Anyone familiar buying satin bedding knows that that you can also get comforters in all these fabulous colors – deep reds and blues, Bridal white, sensual black, and more besides. A great favorite is a champagne colored comforter which doesn’t readily show stains. It goes well with other colors as well. The quilting is sewn in a variety of patterns and most comforters are reversible. You have such a satisfying feeling of opulence and of being pampered. There you are just lying between these sumptuous satin sheets and satin comforter. They're well worth checking out.
