Satin bed sheet - sleeping in sensual luxury!

Getting to know the different varieties of satin bed linens:

What sizes can I get for my Satin Bed Sheet?  Satin sheets are available to buy online in a vast variety of colors and sizes.   Generally they come as a flat sheet, or a fitted sheet which can be either ‘standard’ or ‘deep’ depending on the depth of your mattress.   Some suppliers also produce fitted sheets for round beds.   The standard sizes are 183cm, 214 cm and 245cm.   When choosing your satin bed sheets you should know that there are many ways of manufacturing satin and most suppliers are insistant that their satin fabric is the best.   Generally, as usual, you get what you pay for!

Clever Designs for Satin Waterbed Sheets
When it comes to buying waterbed sheets, and this also applies to satin waterbed sheets, manufacturers of devised a system for fastening the upper sheet to the lower fitted waterbed sheet.  This is commonly done by sewing the two sheets together at the bottom end which saves you from having to tuck the top sheet in all the time. This can be particularly useful for me wooden framed waterbeds since the pressure and weight of the water in the mattress often makes it hard to tuck in the bedsheets - all the more reason for having fitted sheets. Other waterbed sheet manufacturers have devised a triangular flap or corner piece of material. This is added to the sheet and then tucks right under the mattress. It certainly helps holding the sheet in place and not slipping off at night or when you're sleeping.

What is the best satin?
Satin is a woven material and it is the way it is woven that gives it that luxuriously shiny look.   Some products are ‘knitted’ and this method of manufacture creates a rather rough texture.   The fibers used for weaving satin are acetate, nylon, polyester and silk.   Silk bedding is expensive and worth every cent if you've got lots to splash around, which is probably why many of the famous stars in Hollywood such as Cameron Díaz love to sleep in it.   Seriously though, you can find cheaper qualities of silk; but it also requires considerable laundering care, as does acetate.   You will be safe  –  and probably very happy  -  if you stick to 100% woven polyester or nylon.   You will see Charmeuse Satin on many sites  –  sometimes called satin silk.   It is a sensual fabric that looks and feels silky;  it drapes beautifully.

Check out the satin bedding for you
There are sites where you can find discount or cheaper satin bedding and, so long as you bear in mind the above information, you shouldn’t go wrong.   Remember when ordering that the responsibility for getting the measurements right is yours.   Check out the company’s returns policies as some will not accept returns, or the product must be returned within a fairly short period of time.   One thing you can be sure of is that you will love sleeping between satin sheets  –  warm in winter and soothing in summer.
Umm  -  fabulous!

A satin sheet set varies a little from supplier to supplier. A set usually consists of a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and two pillowcases. In the case of twin sets there is usually only one pillowcase per set. They may come in various sizes. When ordering, the measurements are your responsibility and you should check what the company’s return policies are, as some do not accept returns or have a fairly short period in which to return.
