The satin sheet  - living your dreams of luxury!

Ordering your satin bedding and the different varieties

The satin sheet is available in all sizes as many manufacturers will supply bedding to the customer’s measurements and requirements.   You have to be careful with the measurements you order, because there’s no returning on custom made products.   Generally it’s worth checking what the company’s returns policies are before purchasing, as some do not accept returns, or have a fairly short period to return in.   Delivery from date of ordering of ‘made to measure’ satin bedding varies from 1 week up to 6-8 weeks.   The actual sheet can be either fitted or flat.   If you need to color match, ‘no fade’ satin swatches can be requested.

Check the seams and washing info
It's worth checking the seaming on the double sheet sizes as several of the woven satin materials are typically only available in 45” widths.   This means that some satin sheeting fabrics, like nylon, are joined.   Normally this is one central seam, although some manufacturers have two seams.   This leaves the two seams off to the sides and makes a nice wide center panel.   Modern technology is able to produce unobtrusive seams and generally well reinforced so it’s not really a problem.   Washing instructions will be given by the manufacturer; mostly satin bed sheets can be machine washed with care on a cool program.   They may be non-iron.

The different satins used for bedding
Satin is a woven material and there are three main types of satin:
100% polyester satin is strong and fully machine washable.
100% nylon satin is a very strong fabric but susceptible to breaking down in sunlight and to pilling after washing.
Acetate-based satin has a very shiny luster and a thick luxurious feel.   It's more delicate so needs more care  -  usually has a center seam as has most nylon satin bedding.
Charmeuse satin (made from polyester and often referred to as silk satin) is described as having a smooth feel and lustrous sheen.   It is the fabric of choice for most satin users.   It is certainly one of the most elegant satins;  it drapes well and is seamless.   I’d recommend it.

When you're wanting to purchase waterbed sheets online , it's useful to know something about the bedding that will be right for you and your bed.   For example, there are two styles of waterbeds, the hardside bed and the soft-sided divan.   Normal bedding will fit most soft-sided beds, but for the rigid frame or hardside waterbed, manufacturers use a triangular flap which holds the lower sheet in place at the corners.   It stops the sheet from moving and slipping about on those restless nights when the tide's out.   Many have a top sheet sewn together with a fitted or lower
